Machine Learning is just Statistical Mechanics with better marketing

I wrote a short article on machine learning that I wished to submit for a magazine that Aayush and friends are editing. It is not much and is frankly very superficial and fast, but it does contain some things I wanted to say before, such as about the discarding of mathematical ``pedantics" by a lot of the machine learning community. Also, the next edition of Bulk Physics, Algebras and All That will be on Calabi-Yau manifolds and will include a discussion on the calculation of the Hodge numbers and the neural network model used to calculate them.

Blade Runner 2049

Okay let me start by apologizing to Denis Villeneuve for severely underestimating this movie. I cannot believe what I have experienced. This is such a beautiful movie that for the part $\sim $ 2 hours I have been high on the beauty of it. There are many similarities to Dune that I found, like the Mesa scene with the water, the deep growling in that scene, the texture of the bass, and other elements of the thematic scoring of it all. I will do an in-depth post today, but please, trust me, and go watch Blade Runner 2049. Please do not sleep on this beauty. It is mesmerizing and completely wraps you in the ethereality of it.

Pierdolic Oscars.

So apparently Hans Zimmer was disqualified from being nominated as a candidate for the best score, for Dune Part 2, because it is a ``sequel" that ``uses more than 20% of the first movie's score". And because this is an absolutely dogshit situation, I will just leave it at that and not talk of it ever again. They did not award Interstellar an Oscar, which in itself is an absolutely disgusting show of human facetiousness. This is wild and let us never talk about this again. So I will just say:

\[ \boxed{\text{Jebać Oscars.}}\]
